rhythm

A recap for you of Season One, session two, of on-Friday.

At On-Friday we bring women together to build businesses, nurture well-being and inspire meaningful connection. We tune into two primary suites of content at on-Friday—business and wellbeing.

The theme of our second session was RHYTHM—in life and in business.

Looking at our own pace, our cadence, brought forth some keen reflections both personally and within our businesses.

Our Business Suite…

Is centered around work rhythms.

Systemizing our process to filter new opportunities. This rhythm helps to optimize (and not waste) time.

Customizing our next steps in a sales process—not giving it all, leaving it all in your customer’s court.

Process mapping a common problem—creating a rhythm—to refine and optimize outcomes. An example of this would be dealing with an unhappy client. How to make this a rhythm and process for the business.

Why you should own even the mundane details.

Looking at our sales process from the lens of alignment and containing energy led to some powerful business reflections. We looked at how a “no” in the process can help you to get clear on who is the right client, and only spending time there.

Our Well-being Suite…

Is centered around our wellbeing rhythms—our nervous system and breath, self-sourced rituals to ‘book-end’ our day, and the rhythm of friendship.

We practiced wave breathing, and explored how the respiratory system is the only system of the body which is both autonomic (think: automatic) and voluntary. Said another way, we can influence our breathing/lung activity, whereas other organs in our body simply function on their own. With this influence, through breathing, we use our breath to communicate with our nervous system. This is powerful, and a great reason to choose breathing in your life as a way to wellbeing.

We also looked at simple rituals—created by you, and only you—to for the start and end of your days. This is ‘book-ending.’ There are so many opinions and practices (and books galore!) out there telling you what to do—what’s most important is that you’re choosing one that feels good for you.

Lastly, we opened a beautiful dialogue on the rhythm of friendship—why do we send close friends just a text on a birthday. We wish you could have all been part of this powerful discussion where reflections & commitments were made towards friendship.

Julie also led a fireside chat in conversation with our guest Mandy Gilbert, founder of Creative Niche. We had some deep belly laughs as Mandy shared many truths about being an entrepreneur and shared some of the tough parts for her.

We are enjoying our live sessions so very much, dear women. Thank you, thank you, thank you. With each one we are all feeling more connected and safe to go deeper in our conversations and deeper in our belly laughs. What an honour it is to be with you women.

On-Friday Full Series offers 6 workshops, every other month, in person, in Toronto. Our themes include: Clarity, Rhythm, Celebration (bonus!), Transition, Relationships, Wealth and Courage. The Full Series, Season One, is now closed.

However, you can join us for any or all of the remaining sessions, a-la-carte, by way of registering for Experience OF on the
Events page, choosing the date you desire to participate. In each session, we dive into content for business and wellbeing, we hear from a woman we admire for a fireside chat intimate gathering, and we gather and connect for cocktails and kombucha.
